In this seminar Blos1 s concepts of the "second individual ion" and "normative adolescent regression" will be explored in detail to provide the basic framework upon which to develop our subsequent explorations of the "micro-processes11 of adolescent development.

Learning Objectives
Explain adolescent developmental processes as they relate to an overall psychoanalytic scheme of personality development throughout the lifecycle
Explain the concept of developmental psychopathology and apply this to the clinical diagnostic study of the adolescent
Identify normative adolescent regression and its behavioral manifestations and be able to differentiate normal adolescent regression from the appearance of psychopathology during adolescence
Dr. Richard G. Honig is a psychiatrist in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
