Psychoanalysis and the Humanities: Memoir, Twinship, and Mental Health, a Conversation

Marilyn Peterson Haus’ affective memoir Half of a Whole: My Fight for a Separate Life  provides a rich basis for a discussion on memoir, mental health, and family. The panel reflects on her experience with a twin with serious mental health struggles, and the act of writing a memoir about a complex family in the context of her own experience of psychoanalytic therapy. Discussants Jane G. Tillman, PhD, and Joan Kavanaugh, PhD, bring their perspectives as psychotherapists and ordained ministers to the conversation.
